Project: Adulting IRL

"Did you apply for the job already?"

“So… what are you doing after high school?"

"Why did you not save your money?"

All those questions and no help, no answers.

We get it. Jobs. College. Rent. Interviews. Resumes. Real-life stuff.... and somehow no one hands you the manual.

So we made one.

Learn the “adulting” stuff before you actually have to adult. The best part? You’ll walk out of each class confident and ready to take on the world.

Join us every month for real-life skills you’ll actually use.

Kelsey Ketcheside

A smiling woman with long hair poses against a backdrop of indoor plants, wearing a leopard print dress with lace details.

Hey, I’m Kelsey: Tots Program Director, mom of four (yes, including teens), former teacher, oldest sibling from a HUGE family, and lifelong believer that confidence comes from actually knowing how to do things.

I played volleyball, helped with my younger siblings, worked, got good grades, went to college, and always knew I wanted to be in education. But somewhere along the way, I realized something: schools teach a lot… (bless your teachers for all they do) just not always the real-life stuff. How to land the interview. How to fill out the application. How to cook more than ramen or use a hot plate in your dorm. How to add air to your tire instead of waiting hours for AAA.

That’s why we created Project: Adulting IRL- a hands-on, no-fluff space where teens and young adults learn the skills that actually matter outside of the classroom.

Because adulting isn’t a vibe, it’s a skill set. And you can absolutely learn it, just like I did.

Sarai Diaz

A young woman with long dark hair smiles while standing near a railing, with greenery and a building in the background.

Hello, I am Sarai Diaz, Community Events Supervisor at TVRPD. Throughout my life, I had to learn sutff on my own (hooray for being the first born!), and not only that, I had to be a role model to my sister. That puts a lot of pressure on basically everything. When I played sports, I had to be the best, when it was testing time, I aimed to get A's, and so on. It was tough. Navigating through life without really knowing what the heck to do is a struggle, but, I somehow managed to find a way. I talked to my counselors at school, my teachers, anyone that I thought could help. That helped a lot, but never knew the application of anything. I learned how to fill out a resume on my own, sew my shirts, and so on.

Kelsey and I started Project: Adulting IRL so you don't have to struggle like we did. Yes, yes, we are livesavers. We are here to give you the guidebook to help you throughout life! We will cover not only stuff to help you through your career, but also in life in general!
